Free Form Music!! Officially Released Today!!

Before I do anything, I want to quickly give a shout out to the homie Aaron Bell and his NEW BLOG. It's nice!

NOW. Something I have been waiting to release to everyone who checks this blog for a long time. It's finally finished. Austin! White's newest album "Free Form Music".

He is a young up and coming cat out of the city of wind, Chicago, and is the song that auto-plays when you come to this blog! He produces, raps, sings, writes his own lyrics, and does all of his own graphic designs that are up on his MYSPACE. Anything that involves him, and any art, he has done (album cover included). You can grab a bunch of FREE downloads on his myspace as well, so make sure you check that out. I can't say enough about this talented artist, other than he is worth a download I promise you that.

If you need a fix right now, here are all the instrumentals to Free Form Music, that are included on the album.

Octane's Leave Me Alone Video

I had a chance to see Octane aka Ro, for the first time at the last Respirations show. The flow he had and the stage presence was worth waiting around for. At one point, he even told a friend of mine who was on the phone, to hang up and put his hands in the air to vibe with him. Octane is out of Detroit, and is Co-Owner of one of the freshest clothing lines out period, Burn Rubber. This is his newest single "Leave Me Alone", which is featured on his debut album that can be picked up sometime in 2009, no release date has been set yet.

Video directed by Gerard Victor of Hoodtography Detroit.

Hello, I'm In Delaware

When chatting with a friend today, she reminded me of this band that I hadn't listened to in awhile. Tonight was the first time seeing the music video for this song. I loved it, and now because of these series of events, I bring the video to you. "Hello, I'm In Deleware" by City And Colour.

Got Me Goin

Newest song from my homie J Knox. The song is fire, produced by Jamal, with a sick guitar solo at the end that he kills. Let me know what you think, feedback is good whether it's positive or negative. Any kind of press is good press!

Hospital Beds

I am completely obsessed with this song by The Cold War Kids. I posted the song awhile back, but this time, I am posting the video. This is done in black and white (which is amazing), with a very classic and old look to the video, as if this song was done in the early to mid 1900's. They don't make too many good music videos anymore with a plot or story inside the song, so I am still in awe of this video.

Teleport A & B

Now since this song, didn't have an official video, this was the best one I could find. It isn't the greatest, but it's clever camera work and editing skills on this guys part. Creative idea behind the video as well. I absolutely love this song, so I think I started off the whole process a little bias. Oh well, sue me.

Under The Radar

Two really good, unique, artists that I have recently been listening to a lot. I don't have much to say about them, except these are the songs that I have grown fond of from each artist. The artists you might ask? Well none other then The Kin and Lisa Hannigan!

Lisa Hannigan "I Don't Know"

The Kin "Together"

Brothers On A Hotel Bed

I have never posted something like this but when you find something that absolutely moves you, it's hard to keep it to yourself. This is another form of art that many seem to forget about, the art of dance. These two people did this piece to "Brothers On A Hotel Bed" by Death Cab For Cutie, which is one of my two favorite songs from them. This had me a bit teary eyed, it's simply beautiful and inspiring.

Hip Hop I Grew Up On

I was rummaging through some old CD's and came across some great old hip hop songs. I use to listen to the 3 songs posted below, constantly. I wanted to share these with everyone because if you don't know music from the past, and have a definite appreciation for it, you can't have a deep appreciation for anything in the future. I think if you ask everyone who is a fan of music, a lot of their favorite music (if not most of it), is from the past. Here is the great, GREAT, hip hop that I came up on. This is back when stories in music actually meant something! Few, great lyricists still do this today.

Souls Of Mischief "93 Til Infinity"

Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth "They Reminisce Over You"

A Tribe Called Quest "Check The Rhime" (Check out Q-Tip!)

Please Forgive Me

This is a really old song from David Gray's 1998 album titled "White Ladder". If you haven't heard of this song before, you're in for a surprise. I remember first hearing it and then stumbling upon it again today after a very long hiatus. I am completely moved by the use of sound and piano in the background!! I hope everyone downloads this song after seeing this. Great video as well as it kept me watching, intrigued, the whole way through.
